Sex And The City Reboot Heading To HBO Max

A reboot of the Sex and the City franchise is apparently on the cards over at HBO Max, Deadline has confirmed with sources.

HBO

The show will be a limited series and that the WarnerMedias platform is currently working out a way to bring back the classic New York fashionista drama-comedy. The original series aired on HBO but their limited event series will only be available to those who subscribe to HBO Max.

Earlier this month it was announced that HBO Max was also in the early stages of rebooting True Blood as well as In Treatment.

The original series starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixion, Kristin David and Kim Cattrall and was created by Darren Star based on Candace Bushnell’s book. The news was first broken by The New York Times who reported that Parker, David Nixon are all interested in returning but the same can not be said for Cattrall who is unlikely to feature.

The series was followed by two feature films in 2008 and then again in 2010. A third movie was in the works but never got the green light. A two-season prequel series, The Carrie Diaries broadcasted on The CW in 2013 with AnnaSophia Robb playing a young Carrie.

Do you think a reboot of the show is worth the wait if it’s not going to star the full original cast? Let me know.
